Optimized-cupples 2John Mitchell - Driver of the Year

In a category of over 100,000 drivers UK wide, two of our drivers made up the top three of the medium distance section of the Microlise Driver of the Year Awards 2016.

Ian Cupples and Douglas Thornton were nominated for the prestigious award at the annual conference held in the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. We are delighted that Ian won the award with Dougie, who won the award last year, finishing as a gracious runner-up. Both were treated to a track day driving Porsche’s. We don’t believe driving style was monitored during this event!!

Further to Ian and Dougie’s success, John Mitchell also received an award for over all Driver Excellence! This was awarded for having the most drivers in the initial short list for the Driver of the Year award. We would like to congratulate each of our drivers and encourage them to keep up the good work. This award demonstrates their commitment to the quality and safety of their driving style when on the road and is richly deserved.

A special mention must also be made to Angela Martin who’s determined efforts in the office played a huge role in this success. Angela’s role in operating and maintaining the system was a major contributory

factor and certainly does not go unnoticed.

John Mitchell would like to congratulate our drivers on another fantastic success!

John Mitchell - Love the Lorry Week

Optimized-IMG 2393National Lorry Week - Everything we eat, drink, wear and use has spent time on the back of a lorry. Homes, places of work, hospitals, shops, restaurants and schools all rely on our transport and logistics network.

The Road Haulage Association (RHA) is holding National Lorry Week. The aim is to raise the profile of the UK’s haulage industry, both as an essential service provider and as an excellent, and often overlooked, career opportunity.

At John Mitchell, we are fully supporting the initiative seeking to raise awareness of the vital role the sector plays within the UK
